Video Accompanies First New Music in Three Years
New Zealand pop starlet Lorde has made a return to music with ‘Green Light’, the first single from forthcoming album ‘Melodrama’. Directed by Grant Singer, who’s also worked with the likes of Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, the video takes Lorde into clubland, and features a more uptempo beat than previous work.
Speaking on New Zealand radio station Edge FM she explained what Greenlight meant to her: “It’s about the last year or so of my life,” she began, “I moved out of home and into my own house and basically just had this amazing year of independence and freedom and figuring out all the stuff about myself, and it started with a relationship ending, so it’s kind of a heartbreak song, but it’s really more about that journey to being ok in the end.”
