‘THE GIRL FROM YESTERDAY’ FIRST TEASER
Another Nguyen Nhat Anh Book Gets Silver Screen Treatment
There’s no stopping author Nguyen Nhat Anh. Famous for his wildly popular books for young adult readers, and latterly for the screen adaptation of his novel ‘Yellow Flowers on Green Grass’, (Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh), which became Vietnam’s highest ever grossing drama, his novel ‘The Girl From Yesterday’ (Co Gai Den Tu Hom Qua) is also about to get the silver screen treatment.
Directed by Phan Gia Nhat Linh, who helmed the 2015 hit ‘Sweet 20’ (Em la Ba noi cua anh), ‘The Girl From Yesterday’ recalls the story of high school crushes and childhood innocence. Like the book, which was released in 1999, we think this will strike a chord with young audiences and people who have grown up reading his novels. Moreover, Lam Truong singing “Tinh thoi xot xa” on the soundtrack will only add to the sense of nostalgia. The film’s ensemble cast is headed by Miu Le and Ngo Kien Huy.
