Singer Le Thu died in America
Singer Le Thu just passed away at 10:00 am on January 16 (Vietnam time) in the US after more than a month of Covid-19 infection, at the age of 78 years old.
Confirmed, singer Quang Thanh said singer Le Thu had just breathed her last breath at 19:00 on January 15 (ie 10:00 a.m., January 16, Vietnam).
Singer Le Thu was admitted to Memorial Coast hospital (California, USA) for more than 3 weeks due to a Covid-19 infection. She showed signs of coughing, fever, and was quarantined immediately after being checked in by the hospital. As a result, she was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
After 3 weeks of treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU), the health of Le Thu had progressed positively, about to be discharged from the hospital, it suddenly became worse. She had to breathe by machine, treatment was complicated because of high blood sugar.
The departure of singer Le Thu shocked the domestic and overseas writers and artists. She is a legend of Vietnamese neo-music.
Singer Le Thu’s real name is Bui Thi Oanh, born in 1943 in Hai Phong. In 1959, on an occasion of coincidentally performing at Bong Lai tea room, she made the owner of the tea room persistently admonished to follow a professional singing career. So, the schoolgirl Bui Thi Oanh took the messy name Le Thu to hide her family from singing.
