“Đôi Mi Em Đang U Sầu” is the project that has taken the longest to complete in Dong Nhi’s 14-year career. One of the most unique aspects of the MV is the inclusion of many well-known Vbiz artists, including Noo Phước Thịnh, Hoàng Thuỳ Linh, Minh Hằng, Gil Lê, Hoa hậu Mai Phương Thuý, Khả Ngân and rapper Wowy.
“Đôi Mi Em Đang U Sầu” is based on the legendary My Chau – Trong Thuy song and was adapted into a special side story version by Dong Nhi. Me Chau is a pitiful girl who is duped by the person she loves in the original version. In this MV, however, Dong Nhi’s Mi Chau is “resurrected” by a mysterious female race.
Dong Nhi and Noo Phuoc Thinh play “enemies” in the video. However, the audience later discovered that the two had previously been in a relationship. Dong Nhi’s life was ended by Noo Phuoc Thinh’s character, and she was “resurrected” by Gil Le.
The fight between Dong Nhi and her sisters Mai Phuong Thuy, Kha Ngan, Minh Hang, and Hoang Thuy Linh against Noo Phuoc Thinh created a moment of grandeur. Although no one knows what the final outcome will be, Dong Nhi and the crew continue to emphasize the “feminist” message to the audience through the MV story.
After the MV aired, the online community reacted with mixed feelings about Dong Nhi’s latest product. Wowy’s rap segment is the most contentious, despite the fact that the story has received many words of encouragement. Many people believe that this rap is out of place and inappropriate for the overall song.
Some commenters even requested that Dong Nhi release a non-rap version of the song because this segment makes the song sound “out of place.” On the other hand, despite the fact that the story is quite dramatic, the ending is quite brief, which surprised many people after watching the MV.
