At Tulalip Resort Casino, a man from Lynnwood wins a record-breaking $2.4 million jackpot

The largest jackpot ever recorded in state history was won by a Lynnwood man at the Tulalip Resort Casino: $2.4 million.
On Sunday, Jose Lopez, a painter from Lynnwood, was there with his girlfriend, according to the casino. She urged him to try the Golden Charms slot machine, and when he did, he won a record-breaking $2,369,748.95 payout.
“He took some cash home, but the majority was in the form of a check,” said Dan Miller, a casino spokesperson. “Tax is withheld at a rate of 25%.”
This amounts to approximately $600,000, leaving a balance of $1.8 million.
That’s not bad for a $5 bet. And a lesson for guys to pay attention to their girlfriends.
The casino also held the previous record for the largest jackpot, a whopping $1.1 million won on the Golden Charms slot machine in February 2020.
Lopez is a frequent visitor to the casino and has previously won a $20,000 jackpot. According to the casino, their Golden Charms machine has 50 paylines, which provides players with “ample winning possibilities.”
The $2.4 million payout is the largest known slot machine win in state history at any casino.
